Frequently Asked Questions
Is This a Family Practice?
I currently have a hybrid practice, so I do regular family medicine, for all my existing patients, as well as a Functional and Aesthetic Medicine Practice. I am currently only accepting new patients for my Functional and Aesthetic Medicine Practice. Functional medicine patients are still required to have a family doctor. My intention is to help you achieve your health goals by going beyond what is available through the conventional medical paradigm.
Is this covered by Alberta Health or Extended Health?
The Alberta Health plan does not cover the lengthy appointments required for personalized medicine, nor does it cover advanced specialty testing. The patient is responsible for all private medical and lab fees.
Functional and Aesthetic medicine is generally not covered by Third Party insurers within Canada. Self-employed or incorporated individuals can generally claim their health care costs as tax-deductible expenses.
